Munin — Terms of Use
Version 1.2 (2026-09-17). Version stamp recorded on acceptance.
“Munin” and “the developer” mean ASK SOLZ PTY LTD, Victoria, Australia.
1. License
Munin grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on devices signed into your Apple ID, for the duration of an active subscription or free trial purchased through the App Store. Subscriptions auto-renew through your Apple ID until cancelled in your App Store settings; free trials convert to paid subscriptions unless cancelled before they end. If your subscription lapses, recording and processing features are disabled, but your existing notes remain readable and exportable on your device.
2. Term and termination
These Terms apply from first use. The developer may terminate the license on breach of these Terms, and may discontinue, modify, or stop offering Munin at any time without obligation to you. If Munin is discontinued, the copy already installed on your device continues to work for reading and exporting your notes using the app's built-in export features; the developer has no further obligation, including no obligation to provide updates, support, or compatibility with future iOS versions.
3. No warranty
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Munin is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, accuracy, or uninterrupted operation. Compatibility with future iOS versions is not guaranteed.
3a. AI-generated content
Transcripts, summaries, decisions, and action items are generated by on-device machine-learning models. Machine-generated output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or wrong — it may mishear words, omit content, or state things that were not said. It is provided as a convenience only. You are responsible for verifying any output before relying on it or sharing it. Munin's output is not medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice, and the developer accepts no liability for decisions made or actions taken in reliance on machine-generated content.
3b. Not a regulated service
Munin is a personal voice-notes app. It is not a HIPAA-covered service, and the developer signs no Business Associate Agreement. Munin is not intended for handling Protected Health Information, attorney-client privileged material, or other regulated data. Users in regulated professions should consult their compliance officer before using Munin with sensitive content.
4. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer's total liability arising out of or relating to Munin is capped at the amount you paid through the App Store for your then-current subscription period (one month or one year, as applicable). The developer is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill, however caused.
Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law or other law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where the law permits liability for breach of a non-excludable guarantee to be limited, the developer's liability is limited, at its option, to re-supplying the services or paying the cost of re-supply. Equivalent non-excludable rights of consumers in the EU, UK, and elsewhere are likewise preserved.
5. User content, responsibility, and acceptable use
You are solely responsible for everything you record, import, type, or otherwise create with Munin, and for all use you make of its output. In particular:
- Recording laws. You are solely responsible for the legality of your recordings under the laws of your jurisdiction and the jurisdiction of every person recorded — including two-party/all-party consent statutes, wiretapping laws, and workplace recording rules. Munin's in-app consent reminder is a convenience prompt, not legal advice; acknowledging it does not transfer any responsibility to the developer.
- Lawful use. You may not use Munin to violate any law or the rights of any person.
- No monitoring. Because all content stays on your device and the developer has no access to it, the developer cannot and does not monitor, review, or moderate user content, and assumes no responsibility for it.
6. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the developer from any claims, damages, liabilities, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your content, your recordings (including recordings made without required consent), your use of Munin's output, or your breach of these Terms.
7. User data, backup, and recovery
The developer has no access to your content, cannot recover lost vaults, and cannot reset forgotten passcodes. You assume all responsibility for backup. If you lose your device and have not enabled iCloud Keychain recovery or exported a backup, your notes are unrecoverable. We cannot help. This is by design.
8. Refunds
Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple. Refunds follow Apple's standard App Store process; the developer does not offer direct refunds outside it.
9. Intellectual property
You retain all rights to your recordings, transcripts, summaries, and notes. The developer retains all rights to the app, brand, model weights, and code. You grant no license over your content to the developer.
10. Third-party components
Apple frameworks (Foundation Models, SFSpeechRecognizer, NLContextualEmbedding, CloudKit, StoreKit, background URLSession) under their respective licenses. WhisperKit (MIT) and OpenAI Whisper models (MIT). MLX (MIT). Qwen3-1.7B and Qwen2.5-0.5B-Instruct (Apache 2.0). Llama-3.2-1B (Meta Llama Community License). License texts bundled in-app.
11. App Store
These Terms are between you and the developer, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Munin or its content, has no obligation to furnish maintenance or support, and is not liable for any claims relating to Munin, including product liability, regulatory non-compliance, consumer-protection, or IP claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. Your use of Munin must also comply with the Apple Media Services Terms.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and you and the developer submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of mandatory protections of the law of your country of residence.
13. Changes to terms
The developer may revise these Terms with 30-day in-app notice. Material changes (price, scope, discontinuation) require renewed agreement before continued use.
14. Export controls
On-device cryptography is self-classified EAR99 / ECCN 5D992.
15. Children's use
Not intended for use by children under 13. App Store rating: 17+.
16. Account-less identity
There is no user account, no email collection, no password recovery. You acknowledge that recovery requires your original Apple ID and either iCloud Keychain enabled or an exported backup.
17. General
If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; the developer may assign them in connection with a sale or transfer of the app. These Terms are the entire agreement between you and the developer regarding Munin.
